How To Get Binance Smart Chain Token Buy BNB Smart Chain In The US – Even New York & Hawaii

This is NOT financial advice. Please see our Financial and Affiliate Disclosures below for more details.

Welcome in. David Tatera here again. CryptoTutorials.org. Today I'm going to show you exactly how to get Binance smart chain on metamask, or Binance smart token, whatever you want to call it, but the actual currency, Binance smart chain, so that you can go on a DEXswap or PancakeSwap any of those DeFi platforms that you need Smart Chain as your currency.

I know it can be difficult if you live in the United States, it can be more difficult if you live in Hawaii or New York, where there's some serious crypto restrictions. But even with those, I have a way I'm going to show you how to do it.

Standards of Token

To be completely clear, there are two different, completely different token standards that exist on the Binance Network. There's BEP-2, which is BNB. The token that you can buy if you go onto Binance.us or if you swap into Kucoin. These are my two most recommended ways, depending on where you live, to get a hold of this currency.

You're going to have to get ahold of BEP-2 BNB. The standard BNB token. Then there's a whole second set of protocols, that's called the smart chain or BEP-20. BP-20 Smart Chain, that's what you actually need to use on Pancakeswap and to use on these Defi platforms.

Binance Smart Chain

The only way we can get BEP-20... If you're watching this video outside of the United States, you can just get Smart Chain by going to binance.com. But if you're in the US, you're going to have to get ahold of BNB, the BEP-2 token, and then I'm going to show you how to swap it over inside a Binance wallet and you can make it into the Smart Chain BEP-20, which you can then do all the things that you want to do.

Little confusing, but I'm going to walk you through it step-by-step and make sure that everybody gets exactly where they need to so that they can buy their crypto.

Step by Step Process to get binance smart chain on metamask

First step that we need to take here is to pick up some Binance token. We've got to get some BNB and there's a couple different routes that we can go to do that. The main one, if you're in most of the United States is going to be this site, Binance.us. Now, if you happen to be outside of the United States, this whole video probably doesn't apply to you because you can just pick up Binance Smart Chain on metamask easily through regular Binance.com. But if you live in the U S then you have to use Binance.us, and that means you have to buy BNB. You can't buy directly into Smart Chain.

I happen to live in Hawaii. If you live in New York, same thing, neither of us can access Binance.us. It's against the local state regulations. So what you have to do is purchase crypto on whatever exchange you can get it in, whether it be Gemini or Coinbase, anywhere you can buy some something cheap to transfer, like a Lite coin. Then transfer it over to Kucoin.

I've done a whole tutorial that walks you through KuCoin. I think it is a fantastic exchange. Once you get it onto Kucoin, you can turn it into BNB and you can move it where you need to. So if you're New Yorker or Hawaii that's the route. If you're anywhere else, probably just buy it directly on Binance.us.

Sign up for Binance Wallet

I'm going to show you how we sign up for a Binance wallet. Then I'm gonna come back and pull some BNB out of my Kucoin and transfer it over. To add the Binance Chain Wallet, we're going to head over here to Google Chrome web store. Make sure that you're in the Chrome web store so that you know, you're in the right place and you're gonna want to put in Binance Chain Wallet. This is going to pull it up, and a there's going to be other wallets that may pull up that look kind of similar.

Cryptocurrency Tokens

Make sure you use the Binance Chain Wallet. It's this one. Doesn't get a very good review. I'm not entirely sure why, but we're only gonna use it for one purpose. It's just going to be there to swap some coins over from one protocol to another. Then we're sending them on their way.

I am going to add this to Chrome add extension. Once we have the extension added, you're going to want to go ahead and pin it. Pull up here on this little puzzle icon, pin that extension. Now we've got it here.

You have the options to use an existing wallet or create a new wallet. I recommend creating a new wallet. I've seen another video where a guy used his Metalmask seed phrase. I don't like sending anybody else my seed phrase, no matter what. Even if it's another wallet. Feel free to try it if you like, but not for me.

Choose between New or Existing wallet

I'm going to create a new wallet. We will generate a seed phrase and create a password. Click continue. It's going to give me my seed phrase and I'm going to copy that and save it in a safe location and boom, we're done. Should have us a wallet.

My wallet is all set up now. What I need to do is receive some coins. I copy the address, and I'm going to copy that for my Binance Chain network (not smart chain) and I'm going to head over to Kucoin and we'll go on from there.

Now I am going to go here to my assets. In my main account I have a little bit of BNB I am going to withdraw. You're going to see that there's a .01 BNB fee. Which right now I think is about $4 and that's not too bad. It would be the same fee if you were doing a smaller amount of BNB or a larger amount. No matter what size you're doing, it's a flat fee there.

So I told it I want to transfer that amount that I have from my main account to this particular BEP-2 wallet. It is going to ask me to confirm the withdrawal a couple of different ways. I need to put it in my trading password. I will get an email and I will get a two factor authentication in my Google authenticate because I have a lot of security on here.

Secure your Crypto

You know, I think it's important to take security very seriously when you're dealing with crypto. But also I'm always using my stuff online, I'm sharing it in videos all the time. So I am always worried that I'm going to make a silly mistake and leave something exposed in a way that I do not want it exposed. I'm constantly doing different things to protect against that.

I will get all my verification codes and I will submit them, and it's going to say that I have a successful withdraw to now. We're just going to go over here and we're going to watch in a moment, we should have a balance pop-up in this wallet.

Crypto Coins

Awesome. And as you can see, it has arrived. There is a 0.08 BNB. So next thing we've got to do, we've got to turn and that into Smart Chain. It might sound a little bit odd, but our next step is actually to transfer this, um, this balance that we have in BNB here from Binance Chain network, over to Binance Smart Chain network BSC. That's how you convert it. You do a transfer from one to the other. You're going to want to switch this over to Binance Smart Chain network, and you're going want to copy your wallet address.

Then you're going to go back to your Binance Chain network and you're going to say send. And when you put that address in, it's going to say cross chain transfer to Binance Smart Chain on Metamask. Boom. That's a good note. That's the note that we want to see. Once we see that come up, that means, yep. We did it right.

Transfer through Binance Smart Chain on Metamask

We want all of it transferred and we are going to send it on over. Cross chain transfer to Binance Smart chain on Metamask.. Yeah. That's what we're talking about. Little network fee, we're getting 0.0759, whatever. This is the only way I know of to successfully get this. So you don't really have any choice if you want it.

Now you can see, I have nothing in my Binance Chain network portion of the wallet, but if I go over to my Binance Smart chain, boom, now I've got some Binance Smart Chain. The last step for me, I'm going to send this on over to my Metamask. I have my metal mask wallet set up to run on the Binance smart chain.

I've got a video. I will post a link to that one. If you are interested in switching it over to Binance Smart Chain. I copied that wallet address and now we want to send this to this address, boom, send all of it. Yes, there's going to be another tiny little fee. This one's pretty small, and there we go.

We just saw a big jump in our balance, that was the arrival of the rest of my BNB. It just showed up in there so you can see I've got it now in my BSC Smart Chain token. Now I can go to Pancakesswap or something like that. I use this site fairly regularly and I love using it with Metamask. If I go over to Pancakeswap, you can see my new 0.92 BnBs is there. If I wanted to buy Bunnyswap or RGP I can buy that very easily here on Pancakeswap with my SmartChain. A.

So once again, if you're still confused for any reason, or having trouble and struggling that this does not work for you, put it in the comments. I check the comments regularly and reply to them all the time. I love helping people out. So please put it in the comments. Good luck. Let me know if there's anything else you need much Aloha.
