Set up Metamask Polygon Wallet

All right, time to set up our MetaMask wallet so that we can bring some Polygon MATIC token in, and do some work with it. You can also read my post about what is matic token and how to buy matic on polygon so you can get some useful info about it. I pulled up QuickSwaps guide right here, because you need a little bit of information. You're going to need this stuff right here.

I recommend copying and pasting it all. Because as soon as you open your Meta Mask and pull up custom RPC. That's how we're going to add it. If you click back here to copy and paste this MATIC info, it's going to take focus off this and close it. Kind of annoying. I don't want to type all this in, I just want to copy and paste it to make sure I get it all right.

So I copied it into a text document so I could just dump it right in here. Matic Main Net, URLs. Sometimes you get an error when you have a space at the beginning of it from copying and pasting it. I've had that happen more than once. Call it Matic. We're going to set the block explorer for the Matic network, and we're going to save it.

What is Test net?

Now you only really need to make the Matic main net. You don't need to worry about the Test net unless you're a developer and you're going to be using the test network. That's what the test net is for. It's for practicing and making things without having to use real world currencies. So if you're gonna be using the test net to try things out, go ahead and set it up, otherwise main net is all you need to do at this point.

We're rocking and rolling. We've got our MATIC main net set up. I can go back to my account and see I have no MATIC right now. That is the next step. I'm going to copy my wallet address and I'm going to go into Gemini and transfer my MATIC over.
